Sports Labs Support Bathgate Academy

Stephen Duffy, a laboratory technician at Sports Labs, recently attended a Career Ready event hosted at the Bathgate Academy. Career Ready is a programme that connects local employers with students to help them prepare for a transition into the workforce. Through joint community efforts, a combination of activities and opportunities are made available to assist students in gaining the confidence, skills and knowledge they will need. It also helps them to decide on a career by giving them hands-on access to real life situations from inside a safety net of support.

"I was there for 2 hours in which all the schools pupils from S1-S6 got a chance to come round and discover exactly what it is that Sports Labs does. The pupils all seemed fascinated by the fact that not only does this industry exist but also that such a leading organisation within the sports technology industry is based in West Lothian," said Duffy. "It was great to engage with local kids who got to learn about the type of work a certain employee does, different roles within the company, entrance requirements and recruitment processes."
